Search and secure your domain name from the #1 domain registrar in the world, then set up hosting under the same roof. GoDaddy Web Hosting is a big player in the marketplace, and their feature set and breadth of service is unrivaled. Offers shared, reseller, VPS and dedicated hosting.

The Pros

Shared plans as low as $2.99 per month (with a 12 month contract). That's the Economy Plan, and while it lacks the space and features of the pricier offerings, it has some appeal for newbies testing the waters.
No long-term contracts required. The Economy Plan has a minimum 3-month contract. The Deluxe and Ultimate shared plans can go month to month if you wish.
They've got a serious focus on WordPress that includes dedicated servers, one-click install, and well-trained support staff.
U.S. - based website support team.
99.9% uptime guarantee.
Available features that most competitors don't offer (i.e. SEO services and pay-per-click advertising, full-blown online stores, and custom website design services), though they'll cost you.
All plans include a Hosting Concierge, a dedicated team that assists you in getting your site up and running fast. Free for 30 days after purchase.

The Cons

Limits on storage space (and other features) with the entry-level Economy Plan, though adequate for many individuals and small businesses.
Most marketing and productivity tools are priced a la cart and located in their own section on the website, which you might have to poke around to find (try the link "Grow with Web Tools").
Uses its own proprietary control panel, and it's not as visually appealing or intuitive as industry-standard cPanel.
No money-back guarantee.

GoDaddy's website is a behemoth, a navigational puzzle crammed with information and most of the time feeling like the marketing interests of the company have taken precedence over the user.

The Wrap Up

GoDaddy Web Hosting is the world's largest hosting provider, and there are definite benefits to size. Think latest in technology, multiple server locations throughout the world, state-of-the-art security, and well-honed tech support.

Though some might prefer to have every feature they offer bundled into at least one plan, the a la cart style of pricing gives you the opportunity to pick and choose only the features you need and end up with a relatively economical package in the end.

They're not perfect. But between the gonzo corporate image, the pricing points and the broad range of available features and services, there would seem to be plenty to appeal to both new and experienced users.

Best of luck,

Complaints:

The number of complaints filed with the BBB for a company of this size, coupled with the company's response to those complaints, helped raise the rating for the company.

Unfiltered customer reviews for the company are posted on the BBB site. Of them on this date, 7 are positive, 1 is neutral, and 10 are negative. No such reviews (which are treated differently than customer complaints) have impacted the BBB rating for GoDaddy.

GoDaddy.com complaints posted on Internet forums are plentiful, as they are for all major website hosts. A good collection can be found at RipoffReport.com.

Two things to keep in mind: 1) These are complaints for the broad range of company offerings, for which domain name purchasing and management make up a good portion, and 2) Complaints on internet forums are usually devoid of any followups, so we'll never know if the issues were resolved satisfactorily or not.

No Daddy? Just FYI, on July 12, 2011, the company purchased the gripe site NoDaddy.com. The internet forum had been detailing a range of complaints submitted by GoDaddy customers and disgruntled current and former employees.
